The day started off cold but dry and we visited some small villages along the way.
Unfortunately it started to rain when we were climbing the long ascents up to the high plains and with strong side winds it felt dangerous at times, particularly on the long downhill sections. If it wasn't for an opportune stop to get warm with double helpings of hot chocolate I don't think I would have made it to Murat. The last climb was to over 1200m before a nice ride down into town.
We ended the day in a lovely, warm restaurant that specialised in crepes and I tried a local aperitif based on gentians before the meal.
